Le bureau s’intéresse à ce qui se joue entre les contraintes d’un projet et leur interprétation. Entre ce qui est attendu, et ce qui peut émerger. Chaque projet est l’occasion d’explorer un rapport renouvelé à l’espace, à la matière, au contexte.

Chaque projet débute sans aprioris mais plutôt par la curiosité, la rencontre du client et du lieu à façonner. Il y a dans tout projet, une chance d’apprendre, de déplacer les certitudes, d’inventer de nouvelles façons d’habiter.
Plutôt qu’un fonctionnement hiérarchique, le studio évolue selon une structure horizontale, fondée sur la collaboration. Ce modèle permet de croiser les idées, les approches, les disciplines. Construisant peu à peu une communauté à travers lesquels le projet se développe.
The studio is interested in working within the given constraints of each individual project while always questioning the boundaries of these limits, both proposed and assumed. Pursuing the belief that built form can satisfy pragmatic needs while exploring new relationships to space, matter and the environment. The practice continually seeks to uncover and reveal something unforeseen, discovered along the way through a collaborative and experimental design process. Each project is an opportunity to challenge the norm, explore and imagine playful solutions that foster engaging spaces.
More interested in expanding horizontally and building lasting collaborations, the work produced at jma is a combination of in-house projects and collaborations with designers and architects both locally and internationally.
